Plans have now been submitted to facilitate the creation of a second enterprise hub for small businesses, providing affordable serviced offices, collaboration space, hot desks and meeting rooms in the heart of Tamworth town centre.

A new series of monthly drop-in sessions has been arranged for town centre businesses to find out more about the major projects taking place to regenerate and transform the area.

Councillors will this week receive an update on how work is progressing on the Future High Streets Fund - a huge multi-million pound project to transform the heart of Tamworth town centre.

The update will be given to members of the Infrastructure, Safety and Growth Scrutiny Committee at a meeting on Wednesday, September 15, at 6pm. Members of the public can tune in to the meeting live via the ‘TamworthCouncil’ channel on YouTube.

Tamworth Borough Council has been awarded an incredible £21.65m from the Future High Streets Fund which will be used to deliver the biggest transformation to Tamworth town centre in a generation.

The award, from the Government’s £1bn fund to renew and reshape town centres, will deliver a number of projects designed to create a town centre that meets the needs of 21st century residents, shoppers and visitors.

Tamworth Borough Council has now submitted its final bid for funding to the Future High Streets Fund in the hope of winning millions of pounds to spend on town centre regeneration.

If successful, the town could be in line to receive an allocation of several million pounds from the £1bn fund which has been made available to ‘renew and reshape town centres’.
